What I do, if my laptop is not running correctly?

Troubleshooting on your laptop is not a big problem, its just a matter of narrowing it down. Generally, the most common tasks that cause your laptop to not function properly are:
- You installed new software.
- You added new hardware device(s).
- You added new memory.
The best thing to do is back-track. If you added something new and then all of a sudden your laptop starts misbehaving, then undo the steps and see if the laptop is back to normal. If it is, then you know that the problem occurring is due to the program or system you installed.

What if my system freezes up?

If your laptop system freezes, press Ctrl, Alt and Delete simultaneously. In the "Close Program" window, select "Free Access" and click "End Task".

My system won't boot. What should I do?

Check the following causes:
- If you are running on AC power (plugged into a wall socket), check to make sure the AC connection is good. Plug in another appliance that you know works. Flip the wall switch on and off to test the product.
- If you are running the system on DC (battery power), try using AC. Connect the AC adapter and plug in the laptop computer.
- If it still refuses to boot, then the internal AC-DC converter may have a short.

Battery does not seem to be charging. How long does it to take to charge my battery?

Normally it takes two hours to charge the battery if you are not operating the system. If the battery does not seem to be charging, cycle the battery. In other words, discharge then recharge it again!
- Unplug the laptop from the AC adapter and turn it on.
- Let the computer run under battery power until the laptop turns off.
- Remove the battery pack.
- Using a soft cloth, wipe off the battery packs connectors and the AC adapters connectors.
- Re-insert the battery pack.
- Plug the computer into the AC adapter and check the wall outlet, making sure the connection is firm.
- With the PC turned off, let the battery charge until the battery status light or icon glows green.
- Unplug the AC adapter.
- Remove the battery.
- Wait 30 seconds and re-insert the battery.
- Plug the AC adapter back in.
- Let the battery recharge until the battery status light turns green or the icon displays 100%.
Now your battery should be fully charged. Now you should be able to unplug the laptop from the AC outlet and turn it on.

Why don't some laptops charge the battery while the unit is on?

This feature has been taken out as it can cause memory effect on batteries. The laptop has to be turned off in order for the battery to be charged.

Laptops and notebooks: Are the terms interchangeable?

They both mean the same thing. We are not sure of the official story, but we know that the laptop word was used first for portables in the late 80's. Those laptops were several times heavier than today's laptops (or notebooks, if you like). Our first laptop was 39 lb. with a huge 9" black and white display and a 20MB hard drive. We still own it and understand why it was called a laptop. The notebook term came later when the laptop size was equal to the size of the standard notebook pad, what is 8.5" X 11".

One advice: If you really want to get a sense of how a notebook feels-- you'd be surprised how important this is, it is a great idea to go to a local computer store to play with a few different models. Even if they don't have the exact machine you want at ta certain price, at least you'll learn what you want in a keyboard, weight, screen size, and input device (touchpad or pointing stick). You can buy online from almost all major computer vendors. Don't forget, that you can save a lot of money on a great refurbished laptop

Is there any danger in leaving a laptop on 24 hours a day?

There is no danger, as long as your laptop is in a well ventillated area. At least, no more danger than there would be if you left your desktop computer on all day. The major danger to laptops is overheating, because all of the hardware is in such cramped quarters, it tends to get very hot. The bottom gets extremlly hot, so please be careful where you put it. A good suggestion would be to keep your laptop on something raised so the air can circulate through the bottom. Leaving your laptop on top of a bed or over blankets is not such a good idea, because the insulation of the material is causing the heat to stay within the laptop. A tip that may help you when you're transporting your laptop is to take out the battery to ensure that you don't accidentally leave the laptop on.

The most important question:
Why should I buy my laptop from Used-Laptop-Soure.com?

There are many used laptop sources online, such as, eBay, Amazon and Yahoo stores. It is probably very confusing for the consumer to decide where to buy. Although some prices are very tempting, you cant forget that you will get what you pay for or even less.

Be aware of any hidden costs. Some Online Laptop Stores offer products at very low prices with uncovered specifications. Companies will make you buy their so called "Options", as in more memory, larger hard drive, modem, etc., then you will end up with a laptop costing you way more than you planned.

Some Online Laptop Stores call any laptop "grade A" and you'll be very disappointed, when you receive a laptop with cracks and deep scratches.

If you buy your laptop without carefully selecting the supplier, you might end up with a laptop that has defective parts or is not running at all. In this case you are at the mercy of a dishonest supplier, who never delivered your laptop as was promised, and may ignore your complaint.

We are proud to sell the highest grade used and refurbished laptops and we are 100% behind our products. We are NOT brokers! We own every laptop that we offer for sale and they are ready to ship on your request. We are here if there is a problem and we take care of it.
